Awesome

Some real nice touches, loved the Bedn boss, pandas, how Denvish was a Dog/squirrel thing, and how you kept it BBS themed, funny shit.

decent challenge, was lacking in the sound effect department (though voice clips were legendary) the slight co-op element gave it a little twist too heh.

What else to say? artwork was all good, title page was nice but a little scruffy in places, not really anything major though.

Overall, great effort, best game of the day!

authorblues responds:

thanks. i didnt anticipate doing a full game, but i thought it turned out nicely. the sound clips turned out better than i could have expected.

denvish = mongoose. that shouldve been cleared up...

Pretty good

Nice game, decent concept and graphcs to go with - esoecially the electric shock . Nice effect on the revolving stick, one of those ones that gets you wondering about how its done heh

The glitch from before is still present though, the enemies hop around the screen, youd said this wasn't lag, but it would have been worth looking into, because its rather annoying. Not much has been added since the beta, some extra features unlocked through scores might have been a cool addition, but it does fine without.

Overall quite nice, lacked a tiny bit of polish, and perhaps some extras, but decent submission. Congrats

Glaiel-Gamer responds:

the revolving stick was just rotation, the registration point was the center of the screen. Not too complicated.

Ok let me explain the lag thing.
I have my sound streamed to force the right framerate (plus it makes it easier to control the sound). Occasionally it will need to catch up on a few frames, skipping code and in-between frames. Apparently flash updates their x and y positions, but like skips the direction changing code when it needs to catch up, so they blip to the walls if they are close enough. There is no way to fix this. And i only had this happen once to me.

Impressive

Plays just like the old arcade "Super Hang-On", quite an acheivement to pull something like that off without any runtime lag, nice job. Can't work out whether you just had one huge animated movie clip for each track or you devised a slightly more ingeniuos method. Sound was kinda retro, and worked well, the little timer voice gave it a good feel too.

One of the coolest gameplay features was the screen tilting, I think that was a very nice touch, collisions could have been better though, possible have the guy fall off the bike and loose some time (like SHO).

But still a great game, definately one of the more psuedo-3d pieces out there.

Awesome

You've taken the classic "defend your..." genere and squeezed every bit of coolness possible into it. Awesome graphics, explosions are great, runs smoothly, and well coded. Long as hell, and loads of gameplay on offer with just a feckload of powerups extras and enemies, decent learning curve too.

All in all just great, the soundtrack was very slightly annoying though. In just over a week's work too!

Rustygames responds:

Heh yes I think we pulled off a good a game as the genre would allow. Thanks for the great comments

Fun little game

Nice little game, fun to play and obvious attention to detail, some good picks for the music, original gameplay ideas, and you get bonus points for that lovely little surprise in there :D

Denvish responds:

HAH GOTCHA

Potential

Sucks that you had to rush this, graphics were awesome and there was a lot of effort in the level design and castle layout. Could be really awesome with a little polish on the physics and movement, biggest letdown was sound though, fucking terrible sorry : )

Worth another attempt, as this really could be amazing.

Rustygames responds:

Thanks. I do agree but we had a week and thats all we will ever have (we will not be updating this further) Look out for our next game though

Hahaha great idea!

I'm running off to make one right now!

Awesome

Faithfull splinter cell tribute, the night vision was awesome, puzzles me how you did that : ), decent challenge, good level build with some nice props and scenery, well thought out gameplay too. And a great soundtrack. Only problems I had were that the sound kinda went crazy and jerky for me when in alert mode (hence the 7), and the pistol was more of a tool than a weapon (I couln't ever manage to kill anything with it).

Otherwise very nice, worth all the effort and time that went into it, I hope there will be a sequal.

FrostedMuffins responds:

Thanks T-H! You help from before and all the suggestions and everything landed you a spot in the credits. Thanks for are your help! You made a big difference in the game!

How have I missed this gem?

Great game, I was puzzled that I hadn't seen it around before, slightly underrated in my opinion. Graphics were awesome, seen Sketch's stuff before and its blown me away only problem on that front was that I didn't think the enemy characters fitted with the style of the main character.

Well programmed and designed, loved the double scrolling background, but level design could have been a little more imaginative. I also like how you made control a little sluggish for the tanklike main character, gave a nice feel while playing. Weapons were all good, except the grenade throw path kinda sucked, good to see you took a slightly different approach to aiming angles, adds a bit of originality.

I see great potential for the full version, good luck.
